How to choose the right engine

Hi,

I need help with a project i got recently.

The project: I need to reinstall an old MacPro Server (3,1 early 2008) with built in SQL server (no newer version, just the factory disc). Server got 2 CPU with 8 cores each, 12 gigs of ram and a 1TB SSD and 2 4TB HDD that raided (RADI1).

That server got a database thats a 100 tables (12 InnoDB, 1 MRG_MYISAM, 87 MyISAM), 12.418.798 rows and the data length is 4.07

The server reinstallition is no biggie, but i never managed or fine tuned MySQL server befor so i need some help.

What i gathered InnoDB is a bit better choice for a database engine (this server will be used about 10-20 people in an office setting) but probably thats not enough to go by.

So i need some help choosing the right engine based on the database specs that i got and help with understanding the basics for fine tuning it.

Also if anyone can reccomend any book thats made for rookies or any respectable youtube chanels that be a great help.
