The refman tells me that you need to declare the type for mContinue.
https://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/8.0/en/create-procedure.html

CREATE PROCEDURE pbackup1(IN mContinue char(3))
....

There could be other things that require fixing too.
Following the refman should help.
