MySQL Workbench could not detect any MySQL server running

I was able to install MySQL Workbench 9.0 at home, have passed 2 certifications with it. But now, when I try to install it at work, it reports this error "MySQL Workbench could not detect any MySQL server running". How can I get the MySQL server running? I am on my 3rd certification for SQL, but I am not good when it comes to environments set ups. I will truly appreciate your feedback.
