Re: Connector/Windows
Hello,
Yes, it is possible, but PowerShell does not have a built-in MySQL provider.
If you don't want to install a connector on each client, you can keep mysql.exe or the required MySQL .NET library on a network share and call/load it directly from the PowerShell script. This avoids installing anything locally.
For example, with a portable mysql.exe:
& "\\server\share\mysql.exe" -h "mysql-server" -u "user" -p"password" -e "SELECT * FROM mytable;"
For more structured results, a compatible MySQL .NET connector DLL can also be loaded from the share using Add-Type or Assembly.LoadFrom().
The important part is that the client still needs the MySQL libraries somewhere. They don't necessarily have to be installed on the machine.
Please let me know if my suggestion helped you.
