Re: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (46)

I'm still green as grass when it comes to php & MySQL. I'm going through PHP & MySQL for dummies. I attempted to use their 2nd example of PHP (the first that uses MySQL and I got "Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (46) " this was error 2002. I'm using "mysql" as the host. I get the same error with "localhost". If my user or password were incorrect, and that was the problem, wouldn't I be getting a different error message? Anyway, how do I fix this. It's got me completely stopped. - Tom
