i want to use jdbc to store data and retrieve it and also how to directly enter the values into database and which frontend to use to enter value as i suppose mysql front does not supports these values as when pasted ??? appears.from command prompt also same is displayed.can any body just guide me how to insert data into the table

(actually i want to insert japanese hiragana fonts into the table i thing utf8 will work for that or shift jis)
