Character Problems

Hi,

I'm new at MySQL administration. I'm trying to populate a simple table with some words with accent.. Like these ones: avião, boné, você.
But when I try to input them on the MySQL Command Line Client the command line just ignore the accentuation and writes the words like these: aviao, bone, voce.
Besides that, when I try to make a LOAD DATA INFILE with these words on it, when I SELECT the table it shows me some wrong characters instead of the right ones...

Can anyone help me with this?
