eastern and western languages in a single page?

Hello,
I am developing a web app with php where I need to store data from different languages (russian, arabic, korean, japanese, thai and western languages) in a single database table. I have used collation: utf8_general_ci and have just tested the app with arabic. When I view the app from a browser most letters are shown, however there are also some symbols that should not appear among the letters.
When I view the table data from within the phpmyadmin, none of the arabic characters are shown correct.

Any advice on this?

Thanks,
Mike
