Delete special Characters (Boxes in mysql, ^] in emacs)

I'm moving a MS Access database into MySQL, and the file exported from access appears to be filled with tons of of the "^]" characters. I can't seem come up with a mass removal regexp search that even sees them (they are displayed, though seemingly invisible to searchs. For example, searching for ^ will come with nothing).
Anyone know how to resolve this issue? They appear in MySQL as a string of hollow boxes, the kind shown for undisplayable characters. Looking at the MS Access DB, they do not appear to be anything but either input or export artifacts.
