Hi everybody

What do I have to do, when I want to transform text - columns (varchar and char, too) from the standard character set ( ISO-8859-1 ) to utf8?

Is this possible with my MyISAM-Tables in version 3.23 or do I need to update to MySQL 4.1 or higher?

Is it necessary to recompile mysql?

Thank you for helping
paul

By the way
I am using quite big tables containig up to 50.000.000 rows
