Hello.

I have a big problem with charsets under mysql5.
I want to use a translation manager wich is able to transfer between several languages in one tomcat website (servlet).
If theres given f.e. "rus" as parameter, all langauage is set to russian by query to the special row in the table, where all words are expressed in russian.

My standart language is german, but I changed the table into "utf-8".

But unfortunately its not possible to store any russian or greek expressions in the database translated with babelfish !
I tried openoffice and mysql query browser but it don't work !

The error message I get when storing f.e. a russian expression in the database is:

Incorrect String value: '\xD0\xB4\xD0\xBE\xD0\xB1 ....' for column 7 at row 1

The russian expression foem babelfish was here: добро пожаловать

In the query browser appears: ||||| ||||||||||

Has anyone an idea ???

My platform is:

SuSE Linux 11
MySQL Version: 5.0.45
