ordering (collations) in mysql4.0
hi everyone
my company has a mysql4.0.20a-nt server running and ordering of german text is a bit of a problem. i yesterday posted a similar help request for mysql4.1 and the suggestions received were very helpful. unfortunately i could not apply the knowledge gained on the older mysql server. the expressions collate or collation always produce syntax errors.
my problem is the sorting of umlauts, which always appear after the letter z.
is there a way of changing the ordering of results (without upgrading the server) in order to sort 'รค' as 'ae'?
