Error starting service because collation is not valid for character set.

Hi. I'm getting this error when attempting to start the mysqld service on a RHEL5 server. Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks! -Jason

mysql Ver 14.14 Distrib 5.1.54, for redhat-linux-gnu (i686) using readline 5.1
