I had the same problem with you.I have tried all the tecniques that talk about changing the character set and all that but nothing worked.SO what i did was that :

I have inserted greek characters into the database through my site.If you use php you will see with the "echo" command that the insert query will show the greek characters with ??????.The same ?????? will appear in the database if you open the mysql prompt.However if you upload the greek-encoded data from the database into your site the greek will show correctly!
