And now the problem has reappeared!
Don't know why?
This time I change back to UTF8 ... but I added "set names 'utf8'" in addition to "set character set 'utf8'".
It works ... for now. But I can't explain why it worked for a week using 'latin1' ... and then suddenly started to fail again.
