Re: utf8 in database but order does not sort correct
after searching and trying different things we're no at the point that mysql treats umlauts like ä as a.
setting "SET NAMES 'utf8'" in our update-script and application did the job!
now ordering is almost right. with latin1 charset there is latin1_german2_ci to have "phone book" ordering, that means ä = ae. is there something similar in utf8?
