Hi,

Today, I switch the database server from "mysql-4.1.7-win" to "mysql-5.0.2-alpha-win", then everything is OK now!!!!!

And I tried 5.0.2-alpha with both "mysql-connector-java-3.0.16-ga" and "mysql-connector-java-3.1.5-gamma", both WORK!

So, I think my previous problem must be caused by some certain bug of "mysql-4.1.7-win", of which the "SET NAMES 'somecharset'" operation does not work, which is said to set character_set_client/connection/results to 'somecharset', but in fact it did not.

Regards.
Roger
