Arabic text search problem in phpmyadmin

HI
i am using mysql 5 and while apply the search queries with arabic phrase from PHP programs everything is working fine but when i post the same thing in phpmyadmin it is not showing the result is it becouse of any character set or coallittion problem..?
following is the query that i am using
SELECT SQL_CACHE `searchdictionary`.`PK_SEARCHDICTIONARY`, `searchdictionary`.`WORD` FROM `searchdictionary` where `searchdictionary`.`WORD` in ('وقال') Order by `searchdictionary`.`WORD
