I've ecountered this. Or at least probably something similar.

So first is something for you to try: When installing (or running the Config wizard, in detailed mode); when you get to the "Network options", at the bootom there is also "set the server SQL mode". The "Enable Strict Mode" is checked, uncheck it. When transferring my data, it then worked.

I made a rudimentary investigation as to what the problem was albeit offhand I'd have to test the process again to remember the details, sorry about that, hope it helps.
