Connecting SCaVis to MySQL is not a Migration question. As for connecting from SCaVis, but without Java, you would have to ask SCaVis.
You should be able to connect to the database from the commandline mysql client utility, or from any other language with a connector -- Perl, PHP, C++, etc.
