Migration Toolkit Errors -- Linux

I have downloaded mysql-migration-toolkit-script-1.0.6-linux-i386.tar.gz and installed it.
When I run run_migration I get an error: ./grtsh: error while loading shared libraries: libjvm.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory. I do have Java 1.4 installed.
I moved a copy of libjvm.so to the migration toolkit directory and then ran the migration command. This time it starts up and allows me to enter info to migrate an Access database. However, once I click on the final Next command to actually start the migration, I get the following:
There was an error trying to initialize the HPI library.
Please check your installation, HotSpot does not work correctly
when installed in the JDK 1.2 Linux Production Release, or
with any JDK 1.1.x release.
ERROR: The Java VM cannot be created.

[root@mike mysql-migration-toolkit-script-1.0.6]# java --version
java version "1.4.2"
gij (GNU libgcj) version 4.0.1 (4.0.1-5mdk for Mandriva Linux release 2006.0)
Any suggestions???
Thanks,
Mike
