Hello Patrick (& all),
Firstly, need I say what fantastic work is going on over here. I have been using MySQL for a coouple of years now but I have only just begun getting inside it a little and paying serious attention to the optimizing guidelines and it is seriously transforming my work.
What I am wondering is... will it ever be possible to create a MERGE table using local tables with one or more FEDERATED tables? Because that would be my distributed storage dreams come true. I have not tried it, but I can imagine that there might be issues with this at the moment.
