Partitioning and compressed tables

Question: is it possible to compress individual partitions using myisampack (or similar)?
I have a large data warehouse that is currently stored in individual daily tables that are compressed after creation to save space. I would dearly love to start using partitions to simplify accessing the data, but do not have space to support many uncompressed partitions.
