Support for user-defined partitioning for MySQL Cluster in MySQL 5.1 is restricted to [LINEAR] KEY partitioning. Beginning with MySQL 5.1.12, using any other partitioning type with ENGINE=NDB or ENGINE=NDBCLUSTER in a CREATE TABLE statement results in an error.

That being said, there was a reference to Cluster tables in the discussion of HASH partitioning which became outdated and should have been removed when user-defined partitioning support for Cluster became restricted to [LINEAR] KEY in MySQL 5.1.12. This oversight has now been taken care of. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.
