Yes, I'm using '/'.

mysql> create table testp
    -> (
    ->   id int primary key auto_increment,
    ->   value varchar(255)
    -> )
    -> partition by hash(id)
    -> (
    ->   partition p0
    ->     data directory = 'D:/MySQLx64 5.1beta/data/testdb'
    ->     index directory = 'E:/MySQLx64 5.1beta/indexes/testdb'
    -> );
Query OK, 0 rows affected (0.03 sec)

mysql> insert into testp (value) values ('xyz');
ERROR 1017 (HY000): Can't find file: 'testp' (errno: 2)
