Nevermind I got it!
I went ahead and partitioned the ipfrom field.
so when I selected I just do.
SELECT id FROM xxx WHERE ipfrom >= 1135173476 AND ipfrom <= 1135173476 AND ipto <= 1135173476
..
And it uses the partitions like magic, SUPER quick now.
