Full-Text index on a 40gb Table
Guys,
I'm trying to do a full text index on 5 columns in a 40gb table. The columns total about 38gb. THe machine is a dual 2.8ghz xeon with 3gb memory and myisam_sort_buffer_size was set to 2gb.
As I watched the temp files grow I realized that it would take close to a month to index this table. Is this normal? Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!
