natural language search - does it work?

Hello everybody,

i just tried fulltext search, but i miss two essential features:

- error tolerant search ('housse' AGAINST 'house')
- partial word search ('hou' AGAINST 'house')

I see partial word search works with Boolean Search, but only for the first part of the word, not something like "*se" or so..

Am I doing something wrong with the character set (utf8_unicode_ci) or could somebody please confirm this, that these features also natural language search are not yet implemented?

At this moment, I would actually prefer like %..% over full-text search, as it is more fault-tolerant. I see the only real advantage at this point is it's better performance, as it works with a special index, which should be way faster than like?
