MySQL Query Browser and cyrillic

Hi,
I'm trying to make the MySQL Query Browser to work with cyrillic character set (cp1251), but I keep getting in the query results gibberish instead of cyrillic letters. I suspect that I need to add the description of cp1251 into the mysql_dbm_charsets.xml file, but I don't know the exact parameters of this description. Or should I do something else? Could someone help please?
