I've found a clue that may shed some light on the problem. Query Browser usually puts a blue dot to the left of every separate line of SQL code. When I open my script, Query Browser seems to be struggling to figure out where to put the blue dots. Every time I open it, the dots seem to stop at a different line. Occasionally all of the lines are properly "dotted," but usually the dots stop somewhere too soon, making all of the following lines fail to execute.

Strange stuff...
