Hi,

We cannot provide info about product development plans.

If your client wants to use MySQL Enterprise features, your client needs to purchase a MySQL Enterprise license.

The best way to safeguard your client's MySQL database security is always to use the latest MySQL release. Currently this is MySQL 8.0.30.

Locking your client into a specific software version that is already obsolete is not desirable.
