MySQL not loaded in phpinfo()

I have read and reread the info posted here;

http://forums.mysql.com/read.php?10,98534,98767#msg-98767 and in this thread

http://forums.mysql.com/read.php?52,97889,97899#msg-97899 and am still at a loss.

If phpinfo() should have an table with mysql 'enabled', then mine is missing.

In short, my setup is this:
PHP 5.1.4
MySQL 5.0.22 server
Apache 2

I have changed and verified the following: (all things I've seen that should be included)
1) In httpd.conf
LoadModule php5_module c:/php/php5apache2.dll
AddType application/x-httpd-php .php
ScriptAlias /php/ "c:/php/"
Action application/x-httpd-php /php/php-cgi.exe
2) In php.ini
extension_dir = "c:\php\ext"
extension=php_mysql.dll (and)
extension=php_mysqli.dll
3) Making sure 'path' variable included 'c:\php'
4) Reading and downloading the connect php & mysql here;
http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/connector/php/
I followed the instructions to put libmysql.dll in the php directory and
copied the php_mysqli.dll to the php\ext directory

I've been working on this for a few days now and have run out of options
Please help.
David
