Silent install

Hi there,

Do I have to install MySQL using its setup
or can I install it in my disk and simply
put the directory in my directory-tree
of my preferred setup builder and install it?
Is this allowed?

1) Under win98(SE) even with "start /w setup.exe -s setup.iss (modified)"
process exits and setup continues, that I think
it's what installer does telling me setup is done
but MySQL setup is still installing silently.
This seems not to happen under w2k/XP,
but I'm not very sure...

Also, sometimes I got "Error 31" when server
is launched for the first time...
I didn't get this error installing on w2k/XP,
I copied all directory tree and obviously
installation went ok on win98...
Yes, I'm sure silent installation is finished
before starting server.

2) I want to setup all
MySQL environment before installation,
also I don't want to setup passwords
with mysqladmin called from my installation
program because this is really unsafe...

Thanx in advance,

Davide!
