Changing the default datadir in a macports installation ?

Hi

I need to secure my database on my MacBook Pro, as it hold sensitive data. I figured I could simply move the datadir (and hopefully also the logs etc.) into a subdirectory of my home folder, which is encrypted using FileVault.

I tried adding a my.cnf file to /opt/local/etc/mysql5 with:
[mysqld_safe5]
datadir = /Users/jim/var/db/mysql5

However, this doesn't seem to do the trick and the default /opt/local/var/db/mysql5 still seems to get the activity.

Any ideas?

Thanks!
