Unable to start mysql from services

I am unable to start the MYSQL service from the services window in the machine. but its working completely fine when started from my command prompt. when trying to start from the services window its throwing an alert saying "the MYSQL service on local computer started and then stopped. some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other programs or services". I do not understand the problem here. I need to configure it in such a way that it gets started from the services so that every time the windows starts the MYSQL service also starts.
