What OS and what version ?

I've been able to do installs by hand and by script with a minimum of problems
until yesterday.

I'm on Windows XP and the Instance Config gave me the red X on couldn't start
service or apply security.

So I hit back, tried a few options and still nada.

Then I went to the SERVICES.MSC in Control Panel, and low and behold it had
installed BOTH services even though it gave me a red-X!!!

I stopped one and signed right into MYSQL v6.0.10. That was a custom install, and
I didn't use the default paths for \data and folder names (I wanted ones without
spaces in them).

I'm trying to figure out how to do that for a .BAT file install script.

I also want to install INNODB and have a transactional database with ROLLBACK capability. That'll be this week.

Thanks, Jay
