4.1-Schema won't assign, snaps back

This is a 4.1 installation over a 4.0 installation. I created a db under 4.0, and it's working under 4.1. Queries, admin tool, query browser, all connect and run.
My problem is security and schema privileges. When I MySqlAdministrator->User Administration->click on root->click schema privileges tab, my settings for the schema don't "stick".
I can click on the << button, and all the privileges jump over to the "assigned" column. (I can also select them individually and use the < button.)
However, when I click the "apply changes" button, all the privileges "snap back" from the "assigned" column to the "available" column.
To get around this (and get everything else working, as mentioned above) I selected "disable grant tables". Obviously this isn't a long term solution. *grin*
A friend of mine noticed the same thing as he is in the middle of upgrading to 4.1 as well. Then I said "Aha! Two people makes a pattern!" (Well, that's a little bit of a stretch...) so I wondered if others had seen this, and (here's the kicker!) knew how to fix it.
:)
Anyone?
Cheers,
Anders
