I am getting the following error when tried to connecting to mysql running on linux machine.

connection using old (pre-4.1.1) authentication protocol refused (client option 'secure_auth' enabled)

Is there any option in mysql workbench to get rid of this error.
Can anyone suggest how to use workbench to connect to mysql server using url
like jdbc:mysql://<ip-address>:<port no.>/url
