Hi,

Trying to install mysql 4.0.20 on Linux Slackware 10.
Every steps of the installation of mysql worked except
this commands :

/usr/local/mysql/bin/mysqladmin -u root -h Slack password mypassword.

When i issue this command, i get the followings error :

/usr/local/mysql/bin/mysqladmin : connect to server at 'Slack' failed
error: 'Host' Slack.abxlogistics.fr' is not allowed to connect to this MySQL server'

As the result of fact, i'm not able to remotely connect mysql database.

If i issue the same command without the -h option, i only can connect from localhost.

Any idea on how to solve this problem ??

Thanks,

Best regards,

Farid
