macos 10.6.4: mysql system account does not exist
Hello folks...
I just installed mysql and am reading through some of the post installation procedures.
At step #2 of the following guide
http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/unix-postinstallation.html
It indicates that I change the ownership of the mysql software to system user account 'mysql'. I did this as indicated but then I check my MAC user accounts by going to "System Preferences > Accounts" and I don't see a 'mysql' account.
The mysql server application seems to be running fine and I have changed the root and anonymous account passwords as per the post installation instructions.
Am I going to have problems with mySQL since I don't have a mysql system account on my MAC? I'm not sure why I don't have one.
