Thats right, you can always right click the traffic lights in your tool-bar and have it "show me" this service. It doesn't quit, it just goes into the system tray and stays there. In Win2K there is actually no need to run winmysqladmin.

Now you can go to c:\mysql\bin and using mysql command line monitor:

mysql -uroot

You can log in and start doing stuff. What else do you need?
