I have had the same experience while installing 5.5.15 it errors out while trying to either start the server or while applying the security settings. This is all just the install that give the errors. I installed using typical setup options. I did try the command line but cannot log in of course as root. I have put exceptions in firewalls etc to no effect. This is a XP machine and I used the 32 bit msi for install. I have installed all the required additional software and so on. Still no go.
