How do I go about doing this?

"go through your services to see what may not be started or have been disabled. These will give you the 10061 and the 1067 error codes."

I am completely new to MySQL and it is somewhat unnerving that my first experience of it is that it doesn't install/configure properly having directly downloaded the .msi file!
