mysqld.sock missing

I have an urgent problem:
When I was moving files around, I could not find /var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock anymore. therefore my mysql server can not run. How can I create mysqld.sock or copy it from another machine (mysql is running on my other machine)?
Please help!!
