Other causes of error 1251

I stumbled upon this entry while looking for a solution to the error in question, but my situation is peculiar. I have a working WAMP setup, with appliactions running (Drupal, SugarCRM, phpmyAdmin,AWStats etc), I am now trying to connect to the same DB on that server from another server (Intranet) so that I can share the DB and only have one DB to maintain and protect.

I have created a DB username that is allowed to connect from other hosts, but I keep getting this error (topic of this discussion). In the answer (From Brazil) that seems to work for most people, there is a mention of error 1251, and since I ran intot hat error previously for a different reason, I thought that I might help someone by suggesting alternative causes and solutions to 1251.
