Hi Barry,

Many thanks for your help. I understand your questioning. I am new to all of this stuff and figured it was clear I had nothing on my system yet and I told you I am using a Mac OS X El Capitan which is the latest Mac OS which also uses a shell called Terminal. I had not completed the install of MySql (basic free versions 5.7.9) due to the password situation so I can't have any databases etc,,,

Anyway, I went ahead and did a remove/uninstall and then did another fresh install and luckily this time I copied the password ;-). I think I have everything working now so I guess this thread can now be closed.
