Thanks Peter... I couldn’t find the pid file. I gave up last night/early this morning, and resorted to cloning the drive from my old laptop onto the new one. Worked straight away.
Wish I’d figured it out though, still don’t know where the pid file is, or why the password wasn’t displayed.
