Re: /tmp/mysql.sock missing
Now I'm not so sure the server has started.
"service mysql-server start" returns the prompt with no errors so I assumed it was OK. If I try to stop mysql I'm told it never started.
I went to:
2.10.2.1 Troubleshooting Problems Starting the MySQL Server
and discovered /usr/local/mysql/ directory does not exist so no log
I tried reinstalling mysql-server and everything is up to date with no conflicts.
Now I'm at a bit of a loss.
