Error connecting to '/tmp/mysql.sock'

Generally, mysql community server works fine, but I receive this issue every two to three months. I'm unable to connect to my website (
https://nakodametalind.com ) local MySQL server via socket '/tmp/mysql.sock'. (2)
Is anyone aware of (a) the cause and (b) the solution?
