Issues with MySQL Installation on Windows 10 - MySQL Service Not Starting
Hi everyone,
I hope someone here can help me out. I'm a new user trying to install MySQL on my Windows 10 machine, and I've run into a frustrating problem. I've followed the installation guide provided on the MySQL website, but I'm stuck at the point where I need to start the MySQL service.
Here's what happens:
- I downloaded the MySQL Installer and went through the setup process.
- I selected the "Server Only" option during the installation.
- Everything seems to install correctly, but when I get to the configuration step, I hit a snag.
- When I try to start the MySQL service, it simply won't start. The configuration wizard gives me an error saying "The service could not be started. Error 1067: The process terminated unexpectedly."
I've tried the following troubleshooting steps but to no avail:
- Restarting my computer and attempting the installation again.
- Ensuring that no other services are running on the default MySQL port (3306).
- Checking the MySQL error log, but it doesn't give me much to go on (the log mostly says the same "Error 1067").
- Running the MySQL Installer as an administrator.
I'm not sure what else to try at this point. Has anyone else encountered this issue and found a solution? Any tips or guidance would be greatly appreciated. I'm eager to get MySQL up and running so I can start learning and using it for my projects.
Thanks in advance for your help!
Best regards,
Emily
